It’s not that he isn’t an ace, it’s the whole CJ Wilson school of pitching. Set up the batter with 2 really good pitches and then float a fastball right down broadway and the hitter is all over it. Or jump ahead 0-2 and then dick around and end up walking the batter.

I’m not saying he’s a good pitcher or that he should be part of the Angels’ future plans. There just isn’t any other viable options right now

Disagree. Angels are improving but they're still a good tier below the AL elite right now. Arrieta wasn't putting them over the top

This fast start shouldn't cloud that this is still a team that's a good tier below HOU/NYY/BOS/CLE right now. Just keep building and then ideally they'll be aggressive in this upcoming FA class which is excellent

Goal this season is to try and get one of the WC spots and then hope for the best

I don't disagree with the point your making, but I wonder how much our kid pitchers could learn from a stud like him? Plus, it wouldn't a bad thing at all to have a proven stud on the hill every five days.

Do they ? Why is Alex Wood so great ? He’s not that different from our guys.   Or Maeda.  Or last year Kazmir.  Or McCarthy.  The Astros also had limited pitching depth.  Our guys talent wise are pretty solid.

Lol Alex Wood would be the ace of this staff (not counting Ohtani).

All of those legit contending teams have much better rotations.

Wtf are you talking about.  The dodgers wouldn’t even start the guy in the playoffs last year.  Do you know anything about him ? Last year was the first time he was even functional as a starting pitcher.  He had fine numbers but you’re  fucking reaching man.

Our pitchers are fine as long as they’re healthy.  Calm down.
