You do realize none of these news stories are the suburban family of four with a white picket fence and it's always someone from La Habra with a '89 Caprice parked in the front lawn.

 

Pitbulls are inherently aggressive just like some smaller breeds are inherently yappers. Both can be taught and trained.

All dogs have the ability to be a-holes. Pit bulls just have the POWER to do some real damage. I don't care how nice a pitt might be, they better have a muzzle on if going outside.

Pits are one of my favorite breeds of dogs.  I hope they throw the book at that a-hole owner. 

 

If I was king, anyone with tough guy tats would never be able to own a dog any larger than 10 pounds.

They're strays. It's not clear where they came from. There's a high correlation between pit bulls and aggressive behavior. There's genetics here too, not just owner abuse, which I would agree happens in some cases.

it seems much harder to find a smart pit bull than other breeds, but I guess that's a reflection on their owners

Last night while walking to Stone, a homeless guy had a pit bull that was lunging and growling (despite his choke chain) at our chiweenie. He could barely hold the dog. The homeless guy said "don't worry, he's friendly."
