You’re right I even got it wrong trying to explain it.  Yes meant repealing it so goodbye gas tax Brown passesd and no raise again 7/1/19.  It’s unusual that a yes vote means a drop in taxes or a tax rate.

This is not a board of dummies and we didn't come close to explaining this correctly.  It wasn't a defacto tax increase.  It was a tax 'stay'.  If I got this wrong, let me know.

Yes = Repeal prop 6; it was on a sticker I saw on a gas pump.

 

All of these props are a three step process:

1) interpret the language of the prop

2) decide which way you want to vote

3) THEN, figure out if your vote corresponds to the yes vote, or the no vote

How does the 2018 election shape your guys' future in California?  Does it push you closer to moving away?

California voters just rejected Prop 6 which would have saved everybody hundreds of dollars a year.  Orange County is now blue -- there's no going back.  The California legislature has a super-majority again.  Gavin Newsom is the new king.

It's over, this state is going full socialist under Newsom.

Don't forget, if you live in LA county, we passed the prop that taxes you on any impermeable surface of your property.  My brother in law has a typical house in Lakewood and he calculated that its going to cost an extra $250

This is just a semantic argument. Taxes are still scheduled to go up, they were designed to be phased in so people were less likely to notice.
