France erupts in flames over their fuel tax.

France protests: PM Philippe suspends fuel tax rises

The decision to impose a further increase of 6.5 cents on diesel and 2.9 cents on petrol from 1 January 2019 was seen as the final straw for the protesters.

Calolfornians just continue to take it up the ass over their fuel tax.

Calolfornians just continue to take it up the ass over their fuel tax.

Not only that they request the politicians to dip it in sand before they go to work on those asses. They also smile while it's happening. I truly believe that most Californians are happy to pay more in taxes without questioning them.

LA County Is Ripping Trees Out Of A Popular Hiking Area To Reduce The Flood Threat To Homes And The 110

Quote

"It's very possible that this winter we could have a storm come in that could generate enough sediment to actually bury our outlet works," said Daniel Lafferty, assistant deputy director overseeing water projects for the Los Angeles County Flood Control District. "It is actually an imminent threat to the folks who are living downstream."

Locals who have been enjoying the beauty of the park are deeply unhappy.

"These trees are 20 and 30 feet tall. Starting now, the trees, the plants, the birds, the burrowing owls, the lizards, and the frogs, they will just be mowed under," said Shannon O'Sullivan. She grew up close to the park and dam and hikes there daily.

I was astonished to read that the state spent $998 MILLION of our taxpayer money last year on phones for low-income families.

WTH?!?!

That's why they want to tax text messages, to cover a budget shortfall. I'll bet the poor will be exempt from that but they'll enjoy their free iPhones and monthly service.

You're right, screw them all.

Jerry Brown Leaves California With $100B Train Debt, As Texas Pursues Its Own Rail Boondoggle

But but the budget surplus.

Quote

It’s not just the trillion dollar unfunded pension liability that has metastasized during the Brown administration.

The California High-Speed Rail project began in 2008 at an estimated cost of about $39 billion to build high-speed train service between Northern California, Southern California, and the Central Valley. Despite the project having been significantly scaled back, the price tag for the down-sized system is likely approaching $100 billion.

State regulators have apparently scrapped their plan to tax your text messages after the FCC pointed out that it's illegal under California law to do so.

Don't worry, they'll find another way to take more of your money.

I'm still amazed that the state is spending almost a billion dollars on phones for low-income people. WTH?!

It's actually more disabled people/elderly than low income people.  Pretty much all those commercials you see of phones with big buttons and displays.  Things for some reason, wireless companies stopped carrying.
