What is the purpose of putting the umpires on headsets for a challenge? It's really just a thumbs-ups, thumbs-down thing.

Why not have a red and a green light out by the jumbotron? If the play stands, the green light goes off. If it's overturned, the red light. Imagine the anticipation in the stadium.

If MLB really wants to speed the game up, why have umps go put headsets on?
