Really waiting for Jahmai Jones' season to start, but Jared Foster is my most recent prospect crush. Raw, athletic, and now focusing on baseball. Could be a real steal and jewel in the barren farm system.

I doubt last year was as big of a fluke as everyone said.

Yeah Marte had a couple of hits tonite, but he allowed a ball to get through the infield. Granted it would have been a good play if he would have got to the ball with the dive to his left. I think Cowart would have got to it and possible turned two. Kaleb is just a better fielder, I was surprised that Marte was called instead.

Jason Hoppe 3ip, 0h, 0r, 1bb, 4k.  Don't know much about him.  He allowed 1 baserunner in 5ip so far with 7k.  Struggled at A last year.  Almost 24 yo minnesota state RHer drafted in the 27th round.  Was in the Texas system.  We got him for international slot money.

Sherman was robbed of one hit by Barnes in center field, and lined out in another AB. Looks like he's starting to get comfortable. If Bandy can heat up, maybe he can replace Perez and add some much needed punch to the lineup alongside Soto.

Eduardo Paredes - 29k in 19ip.  3.26era.  only 6 walks.  Last year had a combine 2.44era with 72k in 55.1ip.  Only 21yo out of venezuela.  91-95 sinker.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's a mixture of the Angels tweaking his schedule because they anticipated calling him up, but once Chacin and Shoemaker came back into the mix it changed things up - and then SLC got hammered with all these cancellations. 

Flipside, the Angels may have gone out and got Chacin and called up Shoe because Smith's banged up.

Grayson Long, rhp, Angels. A former teammate of Mengden at Texas A&M, Long has had a similar breakthrough season for the Angels. On Friday for low Class A Burlington, Long blanked Clinton (Mariners) on two hits over five innings in a 1-0 win. The workhorse righthander has an above-average fastball with good angle. None of his three secondary pitches projects to be more than average, but, like Mengden, his advanced pitchability allows him to be successful.
