Three-way Trade?

Unless we are unloading cash on someone, I don't know why we would make the effort to obtain a 29 year old with minimal success at the MLB level.  At least Nava/Gentry have done something at some point.  Hopefully, this is just clearing payroll by moving one of our contracts someplace else in prep for another move later on.

2012-2014, he had a .740 OPS for the M's in some 1,150 at bats, and averaged upper 2.0s offensive WAR.

Defensively though, he averaged a -0.6 WAR.

Sounds like a somewhat watered down version of Matt Joyce before the decline.

What does he bring that Nava doesn't?

Sounds like rearranging chairs?

Gentry vs LHP and Nava vs RHP is good enough for a platoon. Both end up having an OPS+ of 112 vs their preferred pitchers. What the hell did we give up for this guy?

EDIT: He has some decent pop vs RHP I guess, definitely better than Gentry/Nava..maybe a pinch hitter late in games?
