What a game. Bartolo Colon and Chris Young battled for a game in the World Series. Baseball is the best.

That was a classic, no other WS game 1 was ever as long.    Colon and Young matching zeroes until KC won it was unexpected.

The Royals remind me a lot of our 2002 Angels. They foul off a lot of pitches to get the one they want, don't strike out a lot.

Can anyone explain why all the Sabermetric managers are at home watching the world series while two cromagnans from the dead ball era are managing?

Yost is calling for bunts in the fifth inning at home with the DH while Collins stands at the edge of the dugout spitting sunflower shells as he sends in a guy with a life alert around his neck to counsel DeToast on how to give up more singles.

You would think Maddon will all his young studs would have swept the Mets rather than getting an ass whooping. Matheny and the best run franchise in baseball ran themselves out of the wildcard. Even the Dogs couldn't muscle a defense department budget and the two best pitchers in baseball through the first round.

Meanwhile Texas went into full Gulf mode while Toronto couldn't launch a bat flip to save their season and Huston... They had a problem even with all of the tech support of Texas Instruments at their fingertips.

So many progressive teams with top notch guys at the helm getting their ass whipped by Collins and Yost. Makes you kind of wonder if everyone is getting sold a bill of goods with sabermetric baseball.

if you were being serious you probably wouldn't know that the cubs had the worst offense against pitchers who throw 94+. you also wouldn't know that the royals had the best offense against those same 94+ averages. and you also wouldn't know that the mets 4 starters all avg 94+. the reason the cubs were favored wasn't because of new school thinking, but rather the old school mentality of the press. but you weren't being serious, so you already knew that.
