Not sure if this has been reported elsewhere, but the #Angels aren't getting any players back from the #Rangers.

 

So that's the deal. Angels pay Josh $68 million to go play for Texas and get $15 million back

I'd say the past 2 years have shown that Arte has finally left the baseball decisions to his baseball people. Perhaps the best thing from this Hamilton debacle is it opened Arte's eyes. I'm basing this post just off the speculation that the PUjols and Hamilton signings were heavily fueled by Arte

Angels wanted Josh Hamilton gone and are paying ~$65M to make it happen. Rangers get a $15M lottery ticket that could be worth much more.

 

I'm sure at this point they're just happy to save some money. How does this affect the team regarding the luxury tax? Anybody know?

 

If its based on average annual salary, then they lopped 5 Mil off their tax figure.
