I remember as a kid (1977? 78?) an Angel player stated that making it to the World Series was a win. That both teams were winners. I agreed with that then, I agree with that now.

It would be painful to lose 3-2 in the 7th game of the World Series, but I would be proud of the team.

If we lost in game 7 of the World Series we most certainly would've be treated with some great post season Angels baseball. I would've enjoyed the ride instead getting off at the first exit.

Can't win the WS unless you're in it. Nothing wrong with flying the 2014 American League Pennant forever. Of course, winning the WS would have been sweet. But losing in game 7 is far from a choke.

Saying you would rather lose in round 1 than game 7 of the WS.  How many players are even able to say they PLAYED in game 7 of a WS.  Yes, it is heartbreaking to lose but to put yourself out there and for your team to be in that position is what every player wants.  KC has nothing to hang their head about. They breezed through the first two rounds and forced a game 7. Not even their fans expected that. The team exceeded all expectations and their players got valuable experience they can use in the future. And they won the frickin pennant.

Royals fans got 15 playoff games. 8 home games. 3 times they watched their team celebrate after advancing to the next round. Yeah, that really sucks for them. I mean, hey, we got to watch a Chris Iannetta solo HR. #winning

Thank you!  Its not about winning its about how your competing.  If you get to game 7 of the WS and lose with the tying run on third it would be painful, but a hell of a lot better season than the Angels getting swept.

A world series title is a lot better than a world series appearance, but a world series appearance is better than failing to make the playoffs at all (2010, 2011)
