Lester would be my first pick followed by Scherzer. I believe and Arte has actually said this, that he would go over the cap for the right player, I am sure he considers both of those guys the right players. I would also look to trade Howie if you can get a couple of Skaggs for him. Lastly, I would go after a guy to replace McDonald and perhaps a back up catcher that is great defensively. I am happy with our four outfielders, our first baseman, our starting catcher our short stop and our pen. I would even consider bringing back Freese, he had a pretty good second half. We just need a really good starter and a few odds and ends.

With our luck, Lester, Scherzer, or Shields would become just solid and not very good for the Halos.

Focus on another starter that won't cost $150-$200 million.

Get a LOOGY in here.   Bye Margaret, you were an abysmal failure in the tradition of Doug Corbett 1982!

See how much Russell Martin would sign for.   If not too much, sign him and use Iannetta as a trade chip to get a decent starter.

Make Rasmus a really good set-up guy.

Still think Martin would be a mistake...

I think we won't see Richards until they are 100% sure he is healthy, he's too important to our future to mess around with. So expect him in the majors at the end of May. We need a front line starter, because we don't know for sure how Richards or Shoe will be next year. Both have only had success this one year.
