No one had to tell Clayton Kershaw that the playoffs mean everything.

"It's a whole new season," the Dodgers pitcher said. "And nobody cares about what you did in the regular season."

Refreshing.

It didn't work out for him very well, did it?

Babe Ruth got thrown out trying to steal second base, to end the 1926 World Series.

Ralph Terry threw a fastball to Bill Mazeroski in 1960 that stayed up over the plate.

Those are worse things than Kershaw's meltdown. You could find many more examples.

Still waiting for someone to explain the Cardinals, Giants, and Red Sox if the playoffs are such a crapshoot.

The Red Sox finished in last place, so we don't have to talk about them in the playoffs. We might as well talk about every time the Marlins make the playoffs they win it all. If your WS wins happen years apart, there is zero relevance between the two, there is no carry over affect. Just like there is no carry over affect or correlation between the Angels in 2009 and the Angels in 2014.

I dont have much experience with Cardinals fans being argumentative (and my family is originally from st. louis, so i'm related to a TON of cards fans) but in the last few days they sure have been gloating a lot about Albert losing in the ALDS with the Angels while the Cardinals moved into the NLCS. Why do they care all of a sudden? If they are as happy about his decreased productivity as they seem to be then why aren't they just glad not to have anymore and leave it at that? It's not like we are rivals...

Yup.

I guess the pressure got to him, I don't know.

This is not his first rodeo and he has fallen off the bull before the gates opened before. Over 6 playoff series he has a 5.13 ERA. He has shown flashes of brilliance for 2 games in 2013 and completely shit the bed in the next series the same year blowing up with a 6.30 ERA in the other two games. This year he didn't pitch well in either game.
