Nathan likes Angels, Tigers, Yankees

I'd probably pass on this one.  He's due to fall off the cliff soon.  Plus the $$$ could be allotted towards the rotation.

I agree. Ernesto was pretty good in the closer role last year. He just had a rough stretch and maybe with a year of experience under his belt he is due for a very solid season

Seriously, Torii is the best team promoter in baseball.  The guy needs to move into the front office somewhere when he retires.

Nathan would be an amazing pickup, and I don't see him falling off the cliff anytime soon. He would be the perfect addition to this team.  A bullpen with a back four of Nathan, Frieri, DDLR and Burnett would be pretty close to complete. 

 

But that being said, I don't think Nathan at 9-12 mil per year is the best idea.  Too much money, and our resources are limited.

no doubt that SP is a higher priority than RP, but both need to be improved.  Depending on the contract, I'd be psyched about getting Nathan.  Ernesto is too volatile for my tastes.

I'd like Nathan but fact is he's one of the big fish RP out there and will get too much. Halos can't be wasting whatever they have to spend this offseason on a RP....so they should likely pass on him

I think they could easily get Joe Smith and Javier Lopez for the same amount they would get Nathan for.

That would be a sexy bullpen.

Yeah, Torii had conversations with Teixeira, Crawford, Sabbathia and someone else and couldn't lure them in.

 

He had nothing to do with the Pujols, Wilson and obviously Hamilton signings.

Of course he likes the Angels -- he saw what they paid guys who couldn't even throw a baseball last year.  What's not to like.
