Fast start? It wasn't a slow start and the fact of the matter is they were within 2 games of 1st at the end of May. No one had a fast start that year. That start was not a major factor as you claimed.  That being said,. 500 at the end of May is not a slow start either. Agsin, you're reaching way too far to support your rant.

No one had a fast start that year?  Philly 33-19....Boston 29-22....Cleveland....31-18....St Louis....31-22

Florida....30-20.....SF....28-23  so yes fast starts were possible in 2011.

Eppard was here after the poor start in 2012. When he joined (along with Trout), the offense was 2nd in the league from then on out.

To be honest, I don't even know what you guys are trying to get at here.

Um... I was being sarcastic. VERY sarcastic.

But m0nkey was being serious. VERY serious.

None of that had any impact on whether or not the Angels finished in the playoffs. The point was, no one in the West had a fast start so those starts were not a major factor in the outcome of the Angels season.

Compared to other MLB teams it's still a crappy start. .500 baseball is not good enough for a $141M team.

LT I think you like to argue just to argue sometimes. The Angels haven't made the playoffs in 4 years due to a lack of management, front office, players, slow starts, coaching and a lack of direction. People need to be held accountable. If this was the Yankees, Sox or heck even the Dodgers Mike and his coaching staff would be canned and so would the management. If this was a business you were involved in and an owner in you would have fired people. Not kept everyone around or most of the people around.

The payroll litmus is BS Hamiltown. A .500 start was good enough to be right in the mix for the division. It was not a major factor no matter how you try to spin it. It was a start that had them tied in May and 2 games back in June of the AL team that went to the WS.
