Quite the offseason ahead for this franchise. New ownership likely taking over, a whole new coaching staff/Manager search, and they need to get the Ohtani situation figured out(extension or trade), and all of that's before even wondering about what FA's or trades they'll be exploring

He already has sports team ownership background.

Guggenheim vs Steve Ballmer would spice up SoCal baseball, and hopefully put the Halos in the right direction ongoing.

If not Ballmer, Samueli and his $71 billion net worth (18 times Arte Moreno’s) would be a solid 2nd option.

Both have roots in SoCal.

Wishful thinking, but his net is $7.1M.

He likes to spend so it's possible.

I think the last few years for his ownership have been about a real estate deal and extracting as much money from that as he can. Once that deal fell through he really doesn't have a reason to own the team anymore.

My thoughts exactly.  Now that the real estate deal fell through he's cashing out, because there's no way he's going to get the favorable terms he got in the previous deal.

They are developing the area around the Pond and I'm sure they would like to control the development around Angels stadium if/when that happens. He also is nearly twice as wealthy as Arte.

If so then that would mean the new owner will blow past the luxury threshold because this roster needs some more impact talent added via FA

While Ballmer would be ideal, I think he's fully invested with his energy and focus on the Clippers.  I don't think he'll be interested, but I would be psyched if he was.

That is an obscene amount of wealth. He could give 99% of it away and still have close to $1B.

When we were in 1st place who would have guessed we would fire our manager, talk trades of Ohtani at the deadline, and have Arte Moreno announce he’s going to sell the team.
