O'Hoppe

Something to consider. We have Stassi for 2 more years after this season. So, with the bat he's been an Average Catcher, but defensely he's been solid. If O'Hoppe can be that 270ish. 340ish obp and 20+ pop, do you consider moving him to maybe 1st? get that bat in the lineup and the wear and tear does get to him as a Catcher?

I don't understand this line of thinking.

He's one of the best catchers in the game putting up those numbers.

He is 22, not 32.

The answer is YES!

You move him to the #1 catcher seat and Stassi becomes the backup.

I'm assuming we traded for him because he projects as a good defender.  Sounds like he should be average to above average across the board both offensively and defensively.  I highly doubt they would move him - he will likely platoon with Stassi if he continues to develop as he has.

Looks like his front side was leaking and he was falling off balance! Ohtani does this a lot when his ass is going one way and his hands are going another!

Someone just told him to keep his front side closed and take his hips and hands to the ball then finish.... Sometimes, it's as easy as that! Just like hitting a curve ball... Sit back and cut it in half... Once you lead with your front side your toast!
