I learned today that the guy that comes into the game in 9th inning with the bases loaded and it’s tied, that’s a mop up guy.

so they let Dillon Thomas hit for himself but then have Adell pinch-hit for Marsh 2 batters later?

This organization does nothing right, even the little things. Giving Adell an AB is good, but not at Marsh's expense. Why is the AAAA player (Thomas) getting an AB over Marsh?

Iglesias = proof positive why it’s best to build your bullpen with big arms from your farm, and have enough depth on the farm when a couple of them hit the skids?

Bachman, Murphy, Joyce, Silseth, and Ortega all can reach mid to upper 90s.

That’s a start.

They wanted to get to the clubhouse spread and figured it would not take long for Adell to strike out.

Iglesias is a closer. He's had 2 save opportunities the entire month of July. He's 16 for 19 on the season up there with some of the best closers in the game. 

He's not a guy you bring in with 1 out and the bases loaded. That's not what they signed him for. 

If they wanted Iglesias to pitch in the 8th they should've started the inning with him.

This is the most depressing season from a team I’ve ever witnessed. Just takes the air out of you.

Just trade Ohtani and get it over with. Put Trout back on the shelf in hopes he can get fully healthy. This team is going no where. This is the perfect time to bring up the youth and see what they got for next year. Yet we get Gosselin and a bunch of veteran AAA dudes who will not be on the team next year.

Because the station I was forced to watch showed the Yankee game, they didn't join this one till the sixth inning. So I missed the immaculate inning, and a tiny bit of seasonal positivity. Good for Detmers. He has ace potential with more experience and refinement.

The games between weak teams are mostly competitive, but are like a second division soccer league. Without an automatic chance of promotion  by being the best of the worst. So the season plods on, three of four lost at home to a bad team coming in on a losing streak. Pack up their bags,head to Oakland for more of the same. 

Dog days of summer indeed.

I actually agree with @CaliAngel's main point (I think it's his main point).  If Iglesias is available to pitch, why not just have him start the 9th?  What are you saving him for?

I think they were thinking that they wanted Quijada to pitch the ninth, and if we didn't score in the bottom of the ninth,  let Iggy pitch the 10th inning.  Quijada dumped that plan when his command was off.
