is anyone watching the show "scandal" on thursday nights? excellent show, and it moves along pretty crisply. lots of intriguing aspects to it.

This is increasingly moving towards my to do list. People are comparing it to House of Cards. I'll check it out at some point.

I loved this movie. The actors filled into their roles well, especially the kids. Some of the scenes are pretty intense and they were shot quite well. I agree it could have been shorter but there wasn't any point in the movie where I became bored or anything like that. Is it just me or is Ray Liota's upper lip getting shorter and shorter?

One of the surprises was also that Ray Liotta wasn't annoying.

I'm surprised Ry Liotta is in a universally acclaimed movie for once.  He was wasting his talent on direct to DVD mediocrity and a Uwe Boll movie for the past few years.  Nice to see Henry Hill doing quality work again.

I still have visions of him in Guy Ritchie's Revolver. Just terrible.

Throw in Killing Them Softly and Smokin Aces and you have a trifecta of shitty performances.

Limitless - I was enjoying this up until the ending where everthing got wrapped up too nicely.

 

The Evil Dead - The original.  Terrible.  Bruce Campbell was a wuss for most of the movie.

 

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal - Pretty much what you would expect from a Mission Impossible movie.  Nothing spectacular.

 

Hartfield & McCoys - Loved this.  Very much worth the 5 hours it takes to watch the whole thing.

 

Snow White and the Huntsman & Mirror Mirror - Watched these two within a couple of days of each other.  Huntsman was utterly boring.  Mirror Mirror at the very least had some fun elements to it, 

 

The Raven - Meh

 

Shooter & Haywire - As far as action movies go these were pretty decent.  I liked Haywire a little bit more.

The Revisionaries - Documentary about the Texas Board of Education trying to re-write evolution and history in the Texas teaching and textbook standards.  Utterly frightening, especially since this board impacts the content of textbooks nationwide.

Watched Iron Man last night and I've got Iron Man 2 on deck for tonight. Prepping for the midnight showing of Iron Man 3 on Thursday. The Iron Man movies are the best that Marvel has put out.

This is especially true if you ignore the fact that The Avengers, Captain America and (even) Thor are all much better films than the pile of junk that is Iron Man 2.

I mildly enjoyed all the new Marvel movies with the exception of Iron Man 2, which admittedly I never finished the second half of the movie, so I would agree.

I have high hopes for the third installment and hope it picks up the slack that Iron Man 2 dropped. RDJ plays Tony Stark to a T and is easlily the most likeable Marvel character to date in my opinion.

I would recommend watching The Sniffing Accountant, The Puffy Shirt, The Stall, and The Beard.
