I don't think he will find a taker next season, even on a minimum contract. His best bet will be signing a one day contract with STL.

Pujols is a great man and teammate so it will be bitter sweet to see him go. The sweet part is like when you are driving home and have to take a really bad crap, like the ones that make you sweat. That feeling when you finally get to the toilet is what it will be like getting rid of that contract. Some much needed salary relief

Honestly surprised the counting stats are that good because the rates are really pretty awful.

i'm really surprised his avg. is that high. i would've figured it to be about 30 points lower.

That was my thought. With his recent production - or lack thereof - he doesn't even have value as a DH, which would be his only realistic option for even a one year deal after 2021. If nothing else, he has served as an object lesson for why you pay a player for what he likely has left rather than for what he has already done.

He will sign a one day contract and retire as a Cardinal.

Unfortunately his OBP for his Angels career (.312), makes GA look like Kevin Youkilis.  The last 6 years his OBP is .301.

As a Cardinal his OBP was .420.
