He would love to open up the country. I'm not enthusiastic about dying so that Trump can increase his chances of re-election.

His simple mind is on full display. He believes that there is a simplistic solution (as non-thinkers frequently do): Quarantine Manhattan for about a week, and all of this will be gone.

Combine that with a complete disdain for science and proven facts, an almost complete lack of knowledge about how the real world works, and a penchant for acting on hunches rather than solid analysis, and we could not have a worse person in the White House to deal with something like this. At this point you would hope MAGA's would go back and study this man over the last decades....He will run the country like his businesses was the first clue we were fucked when they touted that.  Chapter 11 and borrowing from the Russian mob can't help us now.  We have been through hard times before and we have had great leaders to recognize that and not just distract and blame others.  Just my opinion but his America first and economic isolation and trade wars prolly don't work well for when a pandemic hits.  Sweeping legislative packages that cost trillions of dollars are not his forte. He can't even run a lemonade stand without bilking someone. 

I know WTF am I takling about.  Obama and Chinese flu so STFU. 

 

This will be fun.

The may have "solved" the situation with developing and manufacturing more tests but that is different from distributing the tests to the states. We ought to just start making tests now for any future pandemics of novel viruses.
