Just came back from Lake Havasu.

Huge party at the London Bridge. Thousands of people were there.

Boats going up and down the channel. All the shops were open.

It was great to see everything open again and everyone having fun.

Trump flags were all over the place. Half of the boats had them.

I was out there below Parker and the Indians are now blocking all the launch ramps with barrels on the CA side. There are still plenty of boats in the water (people always find a way.) I guess the spots in Havasu like the Islander and Beach Comber are booked out for six months. AZ is getting flooded with Californians wanting to escape. I’m sure the wealth transfer from CA to AZ is at an all time high. California has to be bleeding dollars right now. Thumbs up to Newsom for choking the California economy into a coma.

Sisolak sets June 4 target date to reopen Nevada casinos

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak finally gave the state’s hemorrhaging gaming industry a bit of hope.

Sisolak on Friday set Thursday, June 4, as a tentative date for the reopening of casinos in the state. He had allowed a partial return of customers to restaurants, salons and other nonessential businesses earlier this month.

The Democratic governor said in a statement Friday that Nevada has continued to see decreasing cases of the coronavirus and hospitalizations for COVID-19 since some restrictions began to be eased nearly two weeks ago. Sisolak’s office said he plans to hold a news conference on Tuesday to offer more details about the next phase of reopening, assuming those positive trends continue through the Memorial Day weekend.

Woo-hoo, nothing yells FREEDOM more than displaying your Trump merch proudly.  Was everyone partying and popping Hydroxy.

So People are upset that a bunch of other people got on boats and were out in the water having a good time?   Silly.  Most boats out there have 4-6 people.  Very difficult to be within 6 feet of other boats.   It’s also an area that’s probably 100 degrees.   Seems pretty damn safe to me.  The biggest threat is drinking and driving a boat.
Also I’ll be relaxing in a pool for a few days in Havasu next weekend.

Dr. Atlas on coronavirus lockdowns: 'The policy ... is killing people'

Coronavirus lockdowns may be "killing" just as many people as the virus because many people with serious conditions unrelated to the virus have been skipping treatment, Hoover Institution senior fellow Dr. Scott Atlas said Saturday on "Fox Report."

"I think one thing that's not somehow receiving attention is the CDC just came out with their fatality rates," Atlas said. "And lo and behold, they verify what people have been saying for over a month now, including my Stanford epidemiology colleagues and everyone else in the world who's done this analysis -- and that is that the infection fatality rate is less than one-tenth of the original estimate."

Even White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Anthony Fauci is acknowledging the harm caused by the lockdown, Atlas said.

"The policy itself is killing people. I mean, I think everyone's heard about 650,000 people on cancer, chemo, half of whom didn't come in. Two thirds of cancer screenings didn't come in. 40 percent of stroke patients urgently needing care didn't come in," Atlas said. "And now we have over half the people, children in the United States not getting vaccinations. This is really what [Fauci] said was irreparable harm."

"And I and my colleagues from other institutions have calculated the cost of the lockdown in terms of lives lost," Atlas said. "Every month is about equal to the entire cost of lives lost during the COVID infection itself. This is a tragic, misguided public policy to extend this lockdown, whether or not it was justifiable in the beginning."

Second NYC field hospital dismantled, despite bed threshold needed to reopen

Officials announced Friday that the Brooklyn Field Hospital in New York City will be dismantled, despite state criteria that a certain number of beds be available to handle any potential influx of patients stemming from the novel coronavirus outbreak as the region looks to reopen.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, also a Democrat, has said that all regions within the state must keep at least 30 percent of their share of total hospital beds open in preparation for a potential second wave of COVID-19; it is one of the seven metrics a region must meet in order to begin Phase One of reopening. New York City is currently 2 percent short of meeting the 30-percent goal of total open hospital beds, according to the state's Regional Monitoring Dashboard.

Went to El Torito yesterday with friends on 17th...I think that is still Santa Ana. It was unique. They had a proper re-opening with safety measures and social distancing. I thought they did a great job and basically created a solid blueprint for how it should be done. Pretty impressive for a first day under completely new circumstances.

Then went to a place that does food pick up but was legit speakeasy type. My friend had to call and name drop and the owner was cool with us coming in for a bit. Only him in there and an older couple. Had a blast. Some other old dude that was a reg called and asked to come in. Unique experience and probably the closest I'll get to the prohibition era as things start to open up now. Five of us in there with a little bit of a code and masks in case someone walked in. Owner knows all the OC places well and had some great knowledge of what's going on, how things are going to work, and what not for business owners like himself.

Some restaurants wasted no time opening which I know shouldn't be surprising because they've been waiting for the go ahead and I'm sure they were aware of when they would get it but the local bar was advertising within hours that they were open.  I'll definitely stop by in the next week to meet up with a couple of friends.  Whatever our new normal is I'm glad we're starting to move towards it.

Yeah. Danny K's is opening today. My friends bar on the 1st.

It's not actual bars and I was surprised to learn that part of the reopening was no bars or no bar areas. So while you can still get a drink, the bar areas need to be empty. So if you serve food, you're cool. It was interesting to walk to the restroom and peek and sure enough it was empty.

One of the interesting things I heard that some are trying to loop hole is some local bars don't serve food, so they can't open. But since this is a small knit group some bars are in talks with my friends bar/restaurant to buy food from them so they can serve food and get that designation. Not sure how that works legally as there is no license for food or health department designation. Kind of weird and curious to see how it's going to work.

The weird thing is talking to that dude at the little speakeasy type thing he was surprised a bigger chain like El Torito opened. He said part of the re-opening process is you had to send a very detailed plan to the county and get it approved to get the ok, but the county isn't open on Saturday. A lot of places just seemed to open with their own interpretation of the phase launch.
