i think it's unlikely that we pair up well with his best career opportunities, but i believe, as we all do, that you can never have enough imposters.

Also, I think we do match well in the sense that we have room at 1B and potentially OF, a huge need at pitching (although I can’t find his pitching stats), and, more to the point, we are the team in baseball with experience dealing with two-way players.

If the Angels see him as a good option for the outfield then I wonder if they consider Marsh more available. Or.... they let Colas develop into a stud and then trade him away.

Two-way players are the wave of the future so if he can hit, play RF, 1B, and throws 95 mph from the left side, I'd imagine the Angels would at least take a look.

 A future 1B/OF who can pitch out of the pen, or even start, from the left side, who throws 95?

Am I wrong in thinking this guy would immediately be a top 5 prospect in our system?

This was my first thought as well.  He could make absorbing other losses more palatable.

I was diagnosed with Oscar Colas 4 years ago.

He'll likely wait until July to sign, as he is young (21) and will have to establish residency in a third country, maybe even Japan, so he wouldn't be eligible for the draft. He also will likely wait as most teams do not have any money in their international bonus pool money.

He's very young with upside and it seems he wants a team to let him pursue both pitching and hitting. Angels so far have done it successfully with Ohtani. Could become a good option for the Angels to at least look at since they can present to him the success Ohtani is having and Walsh as well as Holmes and Rivera in the minors being two way players.

He and Ohtani can alternate between closer and 1B, depending if a righty or lefty is up to bat in the 9th.
