This team is about to catch fire.

The Angels finished the 2001 season by losing 19 of their final 21 games. The beginning of 2002 was no different, a record of 6-14 and 9.5 games out. Then the magic began and we won 21 of our next 24 games.

Something like that could happen again. Baseball is full of these kind of stories.

love the positivity

What AJ said....25-30 is probably about the best to expect by May 31.   That means 10-6 from today until then.

Sure, catching fire is always possible once all of the DL'd players return.

But there's still the issue with rotation spots 4-5, and a few in the lineup vastly underachieving (Pujols, Hamilton, and Iannetta).

They will win just enough for Scioscia to keep his job.

The last thing any player on this team wants is a tough manager who might actually sit guys that don't produce.

Turning the page, and being almost where they need to be, is a whole lot easier than the alternative.

Benching, screaming about accountability, demanding respect for the game, practicing the fundamentals until it is automatic on the field..

who wants that crap?

Yea, its posts like this that make me question the intelligence of this forum. So guys who are the most competitive in their sport don't care about winning, they only care about having a manager that takes it easy on them? I don't buy it.

It's impossible for this team to catch fire and go on an extended win streak because they have too many inconsistant starters, mainly Joe Blanton, who will get rocked every other outing so that means you will take a loss somewhere in that 5 man rotation atleast once in 5 games.

We all hate Blanton, but with timely hitting he has two or three wins. He has pitched well enough to win in at least two starts this season. How but just once, the offense scores 9 runs early in a game and keeps a struggling pitcher in a game. Understand I am not blaming the offense for how awful Blanton is, but there are bad pitchers out there with lousy whips and ERA's that have a couple wins.
