Bingo.  It's not so much that the Twins are necessarily a more talented team than us, but they have the luxury of playing in a division where the majority of the teams are rebuilding/tanking.  For us, all we have is Texas, who doesn't even appear to be in a full scale rebuild anyway.  A few extra cheap wins along the way makes a huge difference.

Well, with Middleton needing an elbow MRI... my guess is we are going to be seeing more of him, not less.  We will need Bedrock to step up moving forward.

I don't think any of the main WC contenders are better than the Angels tbh. Talent wise, I see it clear cut being the Astros, Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, and Angels as the top teams in the AL. That's what I envisioned prior to the start of the season and so far nothing has changed that stance a month+ into the season.

Angels just need to get by until upgrades are made available on the trade market for Eppler, but man the pen is in bad shape right now with Middleton going down again.

Bedwalk is hardly a Major League pitcher. His velocity has declined and he has no off speed pitch. Will be out of the league soon.

They need to give someone down in Salt lake a chance

If we had more talented pitchers, then we could DFA him, but with Middleton going down, I can't see him going anywhere.  They will probably continue to work with him and hope he can re-discover his velocity from before.

By the way, Cozart is really picking it up and playing well and it kind of goes unnoticed sometimes. I just don't get any uneasy feeling when there is a ball hit to third these days if Cozart is in the field.

He even showed some good range today crossing in front of Simmons to make a nice out at first on a ball that Simmons may have reached but he'd be going away from the bag deep in the hole. It's more of a team work play rather than random occurance, making the left side of the field harder for teams to ground a ball through.
