This is a stupid narrative.  Compared to league average The Rays are the lowest payroll to make the WS.  (Psst they lost) The Angels were 5th lowest ever to make the WS.  Was it lower, yes.  Did Scioscia and the Angels, have a huge payroll, absolutely not.   Unless you’re  Bob, then it must be a factor.

Which leads to a question. After those guys, who has this team produced in the last 10? 

Trout. Grichuk. Trumbo. Calhoun. Conger. Bourjos....anyone else? Newcomb. Bedrosian(?).
