Logan Morrison has had 500 or more AB’s 3 times in his career.  He seems a whole awful lot like CJ Cron.  Except Cron is younger and cheaper.

I think it's worth mentioning, the tweet just said they were meeting with LoMo's agent at the GM Meetings.

Right, I really don’t think it means anything.  I’m sure halos are checking out most of the players available.

Here's my take on LoMo.

If he's the 4th best guy we sign or trade for this offseason (after Upton) I'm happy.

I still would like to see 2B and 3B addressed on offense first.

What he needs, is to be allowed to play through his slumps like they do with other players. If he is sure he won't be sent down again, maybe he won't press so hard to produce. Knowing he is the everyday player slump or hot streak, LHP or RHP, would go a long way to build up his confidence.

It seems that if he doesn't start the season in a hot streak they send him down. Platooning him was also a mistake since he has a history of hitting RHP better than LHP. He needs to play everyday, but with very few starting LHP he wasn't starting very often and that also leads to some players going cold at the plate.

Watch if he is traded he will have a career year and become an Angel killer much like Napoli.

I'm fine with Valbuena and Cron platooning at 1st if we can trade for Hernandez or Dee Gordon, sign Nunez to play 3rd and pick up 1 or both of Cobb and Lynn. I'd also like to resign Petit and pick up a lefty specialist for the bullpen. Call it an offseason and then get to spring training and complain about scioscia some more.

Funny, considering the fact that there is no way they aren't at least checking out Nunez (2b/3b player with some speed and some OBP, you HAVE to take a look if you're the Angels).

Yup - how can he not be discussed as well?

Pineda had been my #1 SP FA target until he needed TJ, but I could see Eppler still being interested in him on a two year deal, sort of like what Eovaldi signed. 

Probably want to chat about a deal to avoid arb with GRich too.

Agreed, Im just not sure its worth the added cost.  Early projections suggest him getting 10 mil plus per, i dont think its worth that if that all it gets.

Morrison has always had a nice glove but this was his first good year with the bat since like forever. First good season with the bat since way back in 2011. Him signing a big contract would be very risky. 2 good year out of like how many years? 7?

Cron actually had a nice year in 2016 because he was given a chance to play. Sosh was playing with Cron's head early on this year (sent down to the minors after hitting a grand slam, wtf?)and didn't give him a chance to play like everyday.

I want to see what Cron can do with a full season of ab's. I like Valbuena as a pinch hitter/ 2 starts a week kind of guy spelling Cron and whoever we have at third base. I really don't trust anyone who had a career year with the only noticeable difference being fly ball%. It's been shown there's really no correlation from player to player between an increase in fly ball% and change in wOBA so it's really not a good indicator for success. I'd stay away from Morrison and Yonder Alonso

i'm not big on lomo. i don't really see him as an upgrade and their are some legitimate upgrades out there, if we are interested. i would definitely hope they are looking at santana and the trade market before signing off on a logan morrison contract.

i'm with recon scout, fuck it, just go get stanton and gordon, and whatever else you can pry off of them for taking the stanton and gordon contracts.

I think it has been shown that Cron does better when he plays everyday.  Having him and Valbuena platooning at 1B in 2018 is a really bad idea.
