As they start planning for next year, one thing is painfully clear: they need to find a scorer to play with Kopitar. It's a waste of his talent to skate him with Brown and Iginla.

Im thinking this new German kid (Kempe) might be worth a shot on the wing with him for the last couple of games once they're eliminated.

Make the Kings a faster team.

I think the team speed (or lack thereof) is exaggerated because of the team's inability to pass out of their own zone to a moving target.  They resemble a lower level beer league team in this regard. They rarely get outnumbered chances and resort to dumping the puck in after the other team's defense has had plenty of time to setup killing what little chance they have to score 5v5.

Goodnight Irene  (no playoffs for us this year) and a fond farewell to Bob Miller -- Kings hockey simply won't be the same.

It's really unfortunate the way Bob Miller's final two seasons unfolded -- with him missing much of last year and then this year -- Jonathan Quick going down and the Kings fading fairly early and then with the All Star game in LA with Bob Miller sort of a major part of the festivities -- he goes down and is pretty much lost for the season (as were the Kings).

Final games this weekend going to be very bitter-sweet.

Probably better for Bob Miller's health that it's not a critical must win game that ends up being a nail biter to make the playoffs...........

Bob Miller will really be missed. He really made watching LA Kings games a real treat.  He was a  normal humble guy with a great sense of timing with his sharp wit.

no way do you move doughty. not a chance. sure, he'd bring in top talent, but what you gain in hay you lose in oats.

gaborik and brown were both bad contracts, and both should be exposed in the vegas draft.

somehow they need to figure out how to bring in some scoring in a way that doesn't hurt the roster too much. we need a kwame brown for pau gasol kind of trade.

Agreed. Doughty is the kind of guy to build a team around, Kopi not as much as Doughty, scoring centers can be found but Top notch Elite Dmen much harder to find.
