Actually, that's not a bad idea and a distinct possibility. If he's still pitching well come July, and the Angels continue to stink, I think you see what people have to offer.

Since he started featuring the split, he looks like a different pitcher.  He could get us two high level prospects or draft choices if traded.

You can't trade for draft choices, not allowed.

Gubi mentioned in yesterday's game that he changed his hip rotation and now he's throwing down from the rubber.  As a result, he's increased velocity in his FB by a couple of miles and his splitter is filthy.  I noticed in yesterday's game that he was constantly getting ahead in counts and he had the batters swinging defensively.

He appears to be a completely different pitcher.

Shoe won't be traded, he still has 3 more years of team control after this season. Next year, this team won't have Wilson or Aeav on its depth chart, and it's a distinct possibility they'll be without Richards and Heaney too. That leaves Shoe, Skaggs, Santiago, Tropeano and...?

They'll keep Shoe until at the very least the 2017/2018 winter. By that time he'll have two years of control left and we'll have Heaney and Richards back by then. 

I think there's a better chance Shoe is an Angel for another 5+ years than there is that he'll be traded at the deadline this season.

He's the exact type of player you trade.  Sell high and get an everyday left fielder/2nd baseman and an arm.

Gotta agree with Stradling on this one. If he continues pitching even close to what he's doing now, he'll have a ton of trade value in a few weeks to a real contender and could net a couple very good prospects.

I wasn't a believer earlier but it certainly is nice to see him rebound nicely.  He's not going to have an under 2.00 ERA the rest of the way, but hopefully he continues this run

Would you trade him straight up for Trey Thompson?  No idea if the Dodgers would at this point.

Just for daydreaming purposes, imagine if shoe pitched just kind of like this (circa 2014), and we had a healthy richards and heaney...not saying wed be contenders, but it would be a total different story.

If Shoe really discovered what made him successful in 2014 and is locked in for good. He's our #1 guy, even over a healthy Richards.

We have some HUGE holes in the rotation that need to be addressed starting next year. With Wilson, Weaver, Heaney, and Richards either gone or not available who is going to pitch if we trade Shoemaker?

As his value continues to go up the team needs to be open to it. This team is not winning this year, and all this talk about not having a rotation for next year is premature. We won't have a good rotation next year but we are a ways off from fielding a competitive team as it is next season any way.

If I am not mistaken but I thought they couldn't trade draft choices.

Pitching and defense wins game more often than not. Teams don't trade their top pitching prospects under club control for unproven prospects. 

The only reason this is a conversation is because of fear he'll revert to his old self.

I agree with this completely but that is an absolute real concern.

He's throwing 91-94 MPH compared to 87-91 earlier in the year. 

That makes a huge difference.
