Opened the yahoo sports app a moment ago and checked baseball news to see this and the mention that Heaney possibly will too.  For some reason I wasn't really surprised.  Not because I expected it but because...well...the Angels.

No...but it may be time to consider a partial rebuild.....assuming things bottom out and we're not in the race in July, I'd start by trading guys who have some value and will be FA at the end of the year---Escobar, Joe Smith.....I'd think about trading Street if he can get healthy.....we're not likely to need a closer for awhile anyway....I'd also give some thought to trading Simmons and Calhoun, but only for young guys with a big upside....And if anybody would be foolish enough to take on a good chunk of Pujols' contract (not likely), I'd think about eating the rest.....pretty much put everybody on the table but Trout....

You realize the Angels "Medical Team" is a group of private practitioners from the Kerlan/Jobe center that is used by half the teams in sports?

We should be selling anything that isn't bolted down in hopes of being somewhat competitive in 2018. This season and next are lost causes. Restock the farm, free up money, and try to field a competitive team for the stretch run of Trout's contract.

Not a big Scioscia fan but this is where he shines. He will keep this group together. It's not like we were winning the games Richards started anyway

No worries, CJ Wilson to the rescue! Seriously, this is a huge blow and a giant setback to the team and his career. Heaney should only have surgery now if it's the enviable. 

As a fan, I'm still going to enjoy this season.

Honestly, since they have no chance now of being competitive until at least 2018. They need to figure out is going to be on the 25 man roster opening day 2018 and trade anyone not on that list for prospects. Might as well rebuild now. I'd rather suck for 2 years with some hope for the future, than suck for 2 years with the farm system they currently have.
