My idea of trading Calhoun and Richards this past offseason for some MLB-ready prospects is looking less crazy now. What a bummer. 
This actually puts us in an even worse situation the next couple seasons, as we don't have the depth to even deal away much of anything now.

Could be a reason McGowin got bumped to AAA too. Either fast-tracking him, or getting him acclimated to SLC in lieu of another Bee or two joining our rotation.

You can scrap any chance at competing this year or next, as well as trading Richards for anything of value to help a rebuild.

 

In terms of injury news, this is about as bad of a day as there can be if you are a fan of this team.

No, it is still crazy since you had no knowledge beforehand that Richards would blow out his elbow.
