What do you guys think? Can he play all 3 OF positions? Might make a good 4th OF for less than what Murphy would have made. High contact, low strikeout rate and high OBP with some SB ability. How is his defense?

Sign him and let him lead off. He can be our LF. Or put him in right and move Calhoun to left.

I like him and he'd be the perfect complimentary player, unfortunately this teams needs more than complimentary players at this point.

His concussion could be problem as well, but he could be a really nice lead off hitter. I also get we definitely need way more than complimentary players.

I'd love him. He's good at the plate. Though he's not a very good fielder necessarily, glancing over his numbers.

Above average plug in off the bench. Definitely better than the guys we have there now.

EDIT: T, that's why I wouldn't rely on him to start. Dude will be 34 next year. Plus...ya know...we'll have Heyward in LF so the spot's taken lol

Plays LF,would be an ideal lead-off hitter and a solid OF defender.  I think you have to look at bringing him in or least seeing how much it would take to get him.  He's a OBP guy we can plug in front of Trout and can steal a base...like this idea a lot.

Honestly getting Aoki and Zobrist to plug in to the 1-2 spots in the lineup makes a lot of sense for this team. Yes they are both old but that means they will sign shorter term contracts. Aoki might get a 1 year deal with an option and Zobrist will get 4 years max.

4th OF'er yes! Starter no....And if you only sign him to a 1 year deal + an option we're back in the same spot we are this year or the season after needing a LF'er....So, I would rather shop elsewhere.

I'm surprised they aren't keeping him around. They are a smart org, so I'd say buyer beware if they didn't pick up his option.

They need pitching desperately, so maybe they are allotting every penny (million) to picking up a starter or even two.

Grienke is being chanted everywhere in Bay Area baseball circles, and he's going to cost a bundle..

Every Giants fan I know is convinced that he is going to be walking  on  SF Bay in a long flowing robe next season.

So yeah, he turned down 70 million or so to enter FA, and it was the right move. He is going to get paid in a Major Way.

It will be interesting, but it is going to cost Pujols money and then some.

I don't see the Dodgers being outbid for Greinke. Losing him, especially to the Giants would be a huge blow.

As far as Aoki, I think he would be worth looking at on a two year deal. Adding Zobrist with Aoki eould be ideal.

Oh yeah, and if they can swing a deal for Prado to add to the above that would be great as well.

Good get, great idea. I didn't realize how well-rounded and consistent his top of the order numbers were. Very good OBP and good contact with decent speed fits perfect w/ us.

EDIT:

I also wouldn't mind a mid-rotation solidified starter. Nothing flashy, just an Estrada/Gallardo or even Chen if he doesn't cost too much. Too many questions in our SP right now. Package a younger guy or two for Prado/Escobar. We get a 3B and have a more reliable rotation.
