Mattingly, Dodgers part ways

Dodgers FO is a forward thinking one that incorporates advanced statistics. Sosh is the furthest thing of the type of manager they want.

Don't get why people think this is a possibility just because he played for the Dodgers like 25 years ago. Anaheim is the only team dumb enough to give their manager so much power. Sosh won't have that luxury anywhere else

Gabe Kapler will be the next manager.

i remember he did the intro to base all prospectus a few years back. Talked about how much hed come around to sabr. Would make an interesting mix.

I dont follow the dodgers close enough to know if mattingly was bad or good. But i think the FO may have scapegoated a bit. Mattingly didnt build that bullpen, overrate kemp, overhype puig, etc etc.

And mattingly sure as hell didnt tell kershaw to blow the season in the 13 nlcs. Maybe he left him in too long on the playoffs last year, but again, that pen..

To be fair to Nate, all those guys were hired under previous dummy regimes.  The current regime is supposed to be smarter.  After all, Magic Johnson is one of the chiefs.

Exactly, Mattingly was under the old douche owner not the new douche owner.

Guess Friedman doesn't like neanderthals managing his team

Two former Dodgers stars -- Dusty Baker and Mike Scioscia -- might be popular among fans but would not be a fit to manage the Dodgers at this time. Both have enjoyed successful managerial careers, but neither would mesh with the approach of Friedman and the Dodgers' new front office.
