Whelp, there goes my afternoon plans of watching the game.

Will be interesting to see if they ultimately skip Cobb's spot, given he reportedly is having an issue with a blister, or if they just push everyone back a game instead.

They already placed Fowler on the IL, and the corresponding move was calling up Barria.

I'm guessing a move will be announced prior to the game. The Angels may think they're not going to get this one in so no need to make that announcement until game time. 

Well now we know the game was cancelled.

Still, though, it'd be beneficial to have sent Barria down after last night's game because you have to wait 10 days before you can call someone you optioned back up (unless there is an injury). So the sooner you option him, the sooner you can call him back up if you need him.

Since it'll be made up as a doubleheader instead of being played on an off-day, it should mean that it'll be 7 inning games instead of 9.

That means the bullpen will get less taxed (4 less innings) and it will not result in an off day being lost.

Witt did not pitch a no hitter.

I mean nobody would say the two guys that played left field today “combined to hit for the cycle.”

Sorry but you have to pitch a whole game by yourself to pitch a no-hitter.

Playing the game last night on a wet minor league field was not the best idea.   Hopefully, the wet field didn’t cause Rendon’s groin injury yesterday.

They’re off on August 9, and thus a day of rest for the pen before the two 7 inning games.

Is that your interpretation or is that in the rules?

If a team did not get a hit for nine innings agaist multiple pitchers were they not "no hit"?

Rules?  I think you are confusing rules with statistics.

But you are correct statistically.  If a team got no hits, then they got no hits.

But nobody threw a no hitter if nobody pitched the whole game.
