Some players remind me of that broken object you don’t throw away because you’re convinced it requires just a simple fix to be useable again. The Angels need an intervention.

You know who can fix it?  Dave can, and if he can’t, he wants to hear about it

Print those WS tickets, folks

Detmers and Rodriguez are definitely keys to our future success.  If those two stay healthy and progress, they could spend a good chunk of 2022 in the rotation, along with Canning and Ohtani.  Still gonna need more guys to fill that out, but hopefully we're on our way to having some good young SP.

Reid Detmers looks exactly how I pictured based off what we saw in college. He's going to be an extraordinarily boring pitcher. He's always going to be solid. Never an ace, but never really getting lit up either. Just a solid mid rotation starter.

Yeah - he seemed like a low ceiling / high floor guy - someone the FO could bank on to be a solid SP, but nothing spectacular.

Given the state of our rotation, that's probably what we need now - someone who can rise quickly and fill a spot.  CRod definitely looks more high upside to me.

Gameday isn't showing any of the deets of the game. Any important highlights thus far?

Big HR from Iglesias. Nice outing from Chris Rodriguez.  Detmers looked meh to me, but others here seem more positive.  Lots of sloppy play and bad pitching from the random joes and backend bullpen pieces.
