Wow. What’s the total working age population in the US? 200-ish million?

170 million is the numbers I'm seeing.  But it's probably closer to 200 million since it's just 18-64 that the 170 is counting.

With the self employed, it'll probably add 10 million next week is my guess.  And eventually all these companies that are paying people not to work will cut those workers loose soon.  In reality, with some of these workers like sports stadium workers, they are probably getting paid less being compensated by the owners/teams than they could by being unemployed and getting that additional fed money.

I know a few different people who work for companies in the surf industry and they've been furloughed from mid-March through May.  If they're able to return to work in June they're looking at possibly reduced hours or losing their jobs all together.  Companies running on tight margins before COVID-19 hit along with a lot of other businesses are going to have to make decisions like that after 2+ months of revenue taking a massive hit while they still have fixed expenses.  I read an article that said in at least one of the states where they're starting to open up they've told people that if they don't go back to work when they're able to that they will lose out on state unemployment.  Obviously if someone is older or at risk I don't blame them for staying home but I imagine some people will take advantage and claim that if they're getting paid just the same, especially if they're getting paid more than they would to work.

It’s going to be interesting when all of the farmers go bankrupt and leave the industry.

What about all that tariff money they are raking in though?
