I like getting Rendon and Ryu, but trading for Price terrifies me. The cost likely would be minimal as I assume the Angels would be eating most of his remaining salary, but I'm just not sure how good Price is gonna be going forward.

Yeah, we'd be getting the 34, 35, and 36 age seasons for a guy that hasn't been the epitome of healthy the last couple years.

 

Not to mention, he's been pretty meh. And he's 32M a year. Unless Boston is eating a ton of it, but the fuck would you do that? And why would you need to shed salary if Boston is eating it?

If Boston is eating a good chunk of his contract, the Angels would need to be trading another one of their better prospects.

By my quick back-of-the-envelope math, this should bring us to 80 mil below the lux tax. I know the Angels have been signaling that they don't want to hit it, but...Moreno has seemed emotional in his last few quotes. I think its possible that things have changed and he's gonna say "fuck it" and go for it. If he does...holy shit, we could make some waves. Cole, Rendon, throw in a few other utility pieces and bullpen pieces, no problem.
