The Angels announced that they’ve acquired left-hander Garrett Williams from the Giants as a player to be named later, thus completing the Cozart swap. Sending him out as a player to be named later seems likely have been a measure of ensuring that Williams wasn’t selected in today’s Rule 5 Draft.

Extreme GB pitcher, MiLB career GB/FB ratio of 1.95, and thus doesn't allow many HRs (16 in 321 MiLB career innings).   As alluded to, control is the main issue.    Still hasn't debuted at the MLB level yet.

I thought the same of trading Jacob Pearson for international money for Ohtani. 
We also trade our 2nd round pick, and 500k of international bonus for Rendon, but that’s more than well worth it. I also don’t think Cozart/Wilson would have been traded if the plan was only to sign Rendon. We aren’t done and when it’s trading Wilson, 2nd round pick, 500k for Rendon, Pitcher 1, and Pitcher 2 it will be even more worthwhile.
