Damn, that sucks.  Dude had a legit fastball but shoulder injuries are certainly less predictable than elbow injuries.  Good luck to him.

One of the two games I went to in 2017 was his gem he pitched vs. KC. I believe he went 6 or 7, no ER, with like 8 or 9 k's. Looked really good that day, thought he might develop into a great pitcher. Too bad.

I'm not sure how many millennials you know, but in many of their minds, nothing officially happens until it's shared on social media. Instagram posts and Facebook groups are created to mourn someone before the deceased's family has even been notified. (I know three people in the last two years who have found out a relative had passed away by reading RIP messages on Facebook.)

It’s too bad.  This is how it goes for some guys though.  In a way it’s good that he can just get on with his life now.  Not a lot of guys get to a big league mound and he did it and should certainly be proud of that.  Best of luck to him.

You may be right. I've been looking around a bit and can find only one comparable game.

Don Fisher on September 30, 1945. 13-inning complete game shutout, but he did allow 10 hits and 3 BB. Fisher's entire career lasted two games. This was his last.
