Bourjos and Stratton DFAd, Ohtani, Allen, and Cozart activated, Rengifo to AAA

A bit surprised Bourjos was DFA'ed with the AAA OF depth still being a little thin when you consider neither Parker or Puello have options, should they be called upon, and that Adell, Hermosillo, and Upton are all still out.

Agree.  I guess they figure they can find somebody as good as Bourjos, if they need anybody, in a minor deal of some kind...

Today the Angels have made the following transactions:

·         Reinstated RHP Cody Allen, INF Zack Cozart and RHP/DH Shohei Ohtani fron injured list.

·         Designated OF Peter Bourjos and RHP Chris Stratton for assignment.

·         Optioned INF Luis Rengifo to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The good news: Ohtani reinstated from the IR, Bourjos and Stratton DFA'd.

The bad news: More Cozart and Allen. #smh

I want Rengifo to get every day at bats in AAA, so I'm not butthurt about that move. Though he's better than Cozart x10.

Not a bad line-up.

And here's to Cozart and Allen turning things around - we've got two months for them to build up enough trade value to help a contender, may that start tonight.

Hopefully that contender is us. The seasons still young. We’re not out of the division or wild card race.

Pretty sure they see PB as someone that should have no problem being claimed.

IF OHTANI ISN'T BATTING BEHIND TROUT THEN AUSMUS CAN SUCK A FAT ONE.

Very excited for Ohtani! Hopefully he will rip the ball over the fence and into gaps. God, now Upton needs to get healthy.

Good riddance to Stratton. This rotation spot is Canning's to lose. He has better stuff than Barria. What is the prognosis on Heaney ?

EDIT: Just saw the lineup card. Now I need a cleanup towel .

Bourjos can still wind up in SLC.
