Trout is far above average, he just happens to be stuck up to his knees in a pile of crap.

Most managers would exploit and use his talents to really improve their team.

On this poorly managed baseball team, he is floundering just like everyone else.

Gotta hand it to Scioscia, it takes special talent and effort to take a special player like Mike Trout,

and turn him into average.

Trout is in an unfortunately position because of his rookie season. There was no way he could match it. Last year not only was he perfect at the dish, but damn near flawless in the field. So anything less will bring criticism.

Hitting the cutoff in order to hold a runner at 1st is basic baseball....especially when it's the tying run.  That throw is unacceptable in high school, so save the 'he's a young player' excuse.

That said, Trout is far from average and far from a problem.  He and Trumbo are the only players worth watching.

Agreed. Between Aybar's rookie errors and Kohn's walks, they can share the credit for this loss. Both of them are normally solid. I really like Kohn, but he was terrible last night.

He was crazy last year so now he's settled down a bit.

Missed some OF catches he would have made last season, too.
