Trout's throw to 3rd in the 8th

Trout is far above average, he just happens to be stuck up to his knees in a pile of crap.

Most managers would exploit and use his talents to really improve their team.

On this poorly managed baseball team, he is floundering just like everyone else.

Gotta hand it to Scioscia, it takes special talent and effort to take a special player like Mike Trout,

and turn him into average.

Hitting the cutoff in order to hold a runner at 1st is basic baseball....especially when it's the tying run.  That throw is unacceptable in high school, so save the 'he's a young player' excuse.

That said, Trout is far from average and far from a problem.  He and Trumbo are the only players worth watching.

Mike Scioscia's teams are always fundamentally excellent.

This.  Our OFs seem to do it fairly often for some reason.  Torii did it all the time.  Used to drive me nuts.

Stupid throws, braindead baserunning - it has been the hallmark of the Angels for years.

The inmates are running the asylum.  The only way you are going to get on Scioscia's shitlist is if you show him up, like Jose Guillen.  Then there will be hell to pay.

No it didnt. Aybar cost them the game. MS pulling JW cost them the game. Kohn cost them the game.

Agreed. Between Aybar's rookie errors and Kohn's walks, they can share the credit for this loss. Both of them are normally solid. I really like Kohn, but he was terrible last night.
