Trout just got a defensive bump from Fangraphs so is now at 9.7. So there's a real chance he finishes with 10 fWAR.

Using defense metrics (yeah, I know) this has been Trout's 2nd best year in CF. He's been worth 8 DRS, which is definitely above average.

Trout's WAR would probably be close to 12 if he hadn't gone on the DL.

Maybe. With 9.7 fWAR in 137 games, if we extrapolate that to his usual 158ish games played, he's at 11.2 fWAR.

What a scrub.

Unless you are suggesting that his DL stint (and bereavement leave) worsened his performance overall?

Anyhow, I think he's in a window where he could put up another 10+ fWAR season or two (or even three), if he stays healthy. I'm hoping for an 11+ fWAR season in the mix...hopefully next year.

Oh and his 202 OPS+ currently sits at 51st all time. The highest since Barroid in 2004. If we want to really split hairs we can say it's the highest since Bagwell and Thomas in 1994.

Regardless, Trout is ok at baseball.
