Something seems off. I don't know if it is lingering injury, but he's really struggling.

At this point it is hard imagining him getting to 7 fWAR by the ASB, considering he's been stagnating for a couple weeks now.

Last 14 games: .170/.371/.277, 77 wRC+ in 62 PA.

Hasn't had a multi-hit game since June 18.

Trout's losing his fWAR lead on Jose Ramirez, now at 6.6 to 6.4. The main problem seems to be a real loss of power over the last few weeks:

In his last 101 PA going back to June 19 he's hitting .247/.420/.351 with only 2 HR and a 111 wRC+.

Maybe Trout should be inserted at leadoff until he starts hitting again?

Anyhow, I can't help but worry that something's wrong - that's a real power outage. He should be up over 30 HR by now and he's now teetering on the verge of dropping below a .600 SLG.

It has to be his finger.

Trout now in a three way fWAR tie at 6.5 with Ramirez and Betts. His Def has also continued to go down, now at 1.3...it seems his so-called defensive improvements aren’t holding.

Pretty disappointing last month considering if he had come close to keeping pace he’d be close to 8 fWAR by now. Let’s hope he has a better last 65 games and leaves Ramiréz and Betsy in th dust.

I hope he stays an Angel his whole carreer but realistically with MS as manager he will be leaving after 2020. Moreno has done nothing to build around him either. This club is a mess starting from the top. This should be a team forum but nothing positive to post about the team so individual players become the topic.

1.Trout loves Scioscia

2. We added a 2B and 3B (2 huge needs) and extended Upton

3. The posts here will always be 95% about the players

Here's an interesting thing to note about Trout's numbers this year:

Through June 12 (after 4 HR in two games): .310/.438/.682, 200 wRC+ in 299 PA; 18.1 BB%, .372 ISO, .321 BABIP

June 13 - August 1: .308/.495/.515, 173 wRC+ in 183 PA; 24.6 BB%, .208 ISP, .384 BABIP

He's pretty much hit for the same batting average in both spans, but his power has dropped substantially while his walk rate has skyrocketed. I suppose this implies that he's being pitched to more carefully. On the other hand, his BABIP implies that he's been a bit lucky.

Anyhow, he'll be out for another week at least, and who knows how he'll come back.
