This Trout's triple from 2014 off of the right field wall would have been a home run this season at Angels Stadium.  Trout's slugging and OPS would have looked slightly better that year, no doubt. Had like 3-4 of those balls that were hit high off the right field wall that year.

Looking at it closer it's not even a basket. It has netting over the top too. Does the new out of town scoreboard really need a net for protection? Figured they design it to be able to take an impact of a ball without damaging the screen like the old one.

It's probably for fan safety so they don't fall over the edge trying to nab a ball that will be a home run. Before leaning over the wall would be fan interference.

Geez it’s a topic of discussion. Why can’t we discuss things without being attacked. Someone else mentioned that Trouts numbers would’ve changed with this new wall arrangement. You didn’t attack that. Put your Angels helmet on and get back on the short bus.
