Alden Gonzalez: Hamilton changes mindset to counter timid approach

Recommended Posts

8 Walks and 44 Strikeouts. You can only shake your head. There's no explanation for this.

sure there is.  Any team with major league talent on both the Coaching staff and Pitching staff knows that the book on Hamilton is to pitch him out of the strike zone, and he'l get himself out by either missing the ball, or tapping it to the IF.  He will not be patient enough to take a walk, so as long as he thinks he can get to the ball, he's swinging.

It's been that way ever since the 4 HR game of last year, everybody in baseball knew it except for Moreno.   Ever wonder why no other team in the majors made a play for this guy except for the Angels?    The Rangers offered a low ball offer they knew he wouldn't take, and the rest is history (except for the next 5 season we have to live watching this village idiot)

the only way he's getting any hits is off of idiots or talentless hacks that leave it over the plate.    to me, that means a 200 batting average and about 15-20 HR a year.

I'm pretty sure the Mariners were willign to make him an offer. Until they learned Moreno was interested, at which point they sat back and decided to get Morales for a fifth the cost and a fifth the years.
