Ohtani Received PRP Injection in October

Didn't realize the Japanese have been regularly giving their pitchers Platelet Rich Plasma injections as a preventative measure (something that I think will happen here more often in the future to be honest). Ohtani had one back in October and may receive them moving forward if the Angels stick to his overall routine. I think this is a good thing in many ways as long as it was a preventative measure not a reactionary one.

Ohtani's deal and value really makes any amount of risk here still worth it. Any player can get injured.

I wouldn't really worry about it that much, Ohtani really hasn't thrown that many inning, compared to Darvish and Tanka thru there age 23 year. Plus ohtani didn't pitch much last year, so that arm is rested really well. Since we are on the PRP injection, i wonder if Richards should take one?

This seems like a sensible and probably correct line of thought.

Everyone (MLB Teams), knew about this prior to the bidding...   They have had this info since at least late November -- it didn't keep anyone from bidding on him.

He better have a damn good explanation of why his client was shopped knowing he was damaged goods.

Because even if/when he goes under the knife, you're still talking about multiple yrs left of club control on a guy with his upside so I guess it's still worth it

Teams knew this.  They had access to his medicals.  We are signing him to a minimum contract.  Even if we found out he definitely needed TJ surgery, still would be a worthwhile investment.
