I read this and immediately looked up Castro's numbers.  There is about 4-5 2b id rather have before Castro.

Big mistake by tbe Yanks. Stanton was not needed, and will mess up tbe chemistry that team had. 

Plus bringing in that huge contract is going to really set the bar high for their payroll when these young guys are due to get raises.

Meh, he still has to stay healthy for more than one full season in a row, which rarely has happened so far.

$25 million/season is a lot for a guy averaging just 123 games/season.

Wonder what this does to their payroll. I thought they were hell bent on getting under the tax threshold this year. If this puts them over, you wonder if they will just go balls to the wall and bring in other big names.

The Yankees dumped a lot of payroll since last season. They have a projected payroll of about $156 million without Stanton. They are starting pitching weak.

On the surface, the pitching was good in 2017.

But yeah, there are definite caveats.

I know it isn't happening, but damn would he look good hitting behind Trout. Trout's OBP combined with Stanton's bombs would lead to so many runs.

This opens the door for the Dogs to get Harper for sure.  

Still wouldn't surprise me to see this change direction at the last second though and GCS still ends up a Dog.
