So, uh...

Kaleb's first 10 games: .438/.486/.719/1.204
Kaleb's last 22 games: .121/.177/.241/.419

keep giving him at a bats.  If the trend continues than no one can say he didn't have his shot.  who  knows, maybe the "first 10" can repeat itself.

Yup - definitely not giving up and he still has a month to normalize, but it's concerning. A couple weeks ago we were all pretty much ready to write off needing a 2B/3B this offseason but it may be creeping back in.

He can fit the 2b position if he can maintain a 700+ OPS.  Right now he is at that number so he needs to get hot again.

Shoot even a .650+ OPS is becoming acceptable across the league these days. I'd be happy if he could provide that....

Just hard to say right now what he is. Has he made an adjustment and can he stay in the .650-.750 range with regular playing time to close the year and time to make adjustments? Or is his last 20 games him slipping back into the .400-.500 OPS player he was prior?

Really hope the former so we can cut a need off the offseason wishlist, because we certainly will have more pressing needs.

He's a talented player attempting to take the next step from AAA player to MLB player.  While his defense probably plays best 3B, its obvious right now his bat won't play there but he's the most ready of the 2B options so I anticipate them giving him a shot because of his run prevention, his speed, extra base power and ability to play multiple positions if needed.  Maybe he doesn't make it but I'd like to see what he can do over a full season of ABs.

Cowart actually looks better than Matt Thaiss this month. And Taylor Ward looks better than Thaiss also.

It feels like this year Eppler has favored his draft picks versus those selected before his tenure. In the end it’s unlikely either Thaiss, Ward or Cowart will have much MLB impact but Eppler is on the hook for Thaiss who was his first ever pick - 2016/#16 overall.

Ward especially.   having a position could be an issue for him though.

Thaiss is a lock for the 40 man unless traded.

Cowart is the likely casualty of the three.  We've seen brief moments where he looks like he getting it and then he goes away.  He's an excellent defender though.

I don't think Eppler cares about whether he drafted a guy or not though.  He'll keep the guys he thinks have the most talent and potential for the future.
