Those are just the actual murders, which jumped to 757 today. There are over 4,000 people who have been shot in Chicago. Let that sink in for a moment. The numbers round out to someone shot every 2 minutes*, murdered every 11 minutes*.

*Okay, disclaimer. I'm used to reading time in frames, seconds and minutes so 2:05 could mean two seconds and five frames or two minutes and five seconds. With this level of quality control checks it's a wonder I ever get a show approved.

Chicago area prosecutor open to wiping records of hard drug dealers

Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx revealed an ambitious plan to wipe clean the records of convicted marijuana dealers and expressed a willingness to support expunging the records of those found guilty of more serious crimes such as heroin and cocaine possession.

"We should also make it easier for those who had those sales convictions for higher amounts to also be able to have their convictions vacated automatically," Foxx said. "No, they didn’t have a license. And no, it wasn’t legal. But it was the only economy that they had," she said, noting that legal pot firms are now "doing the exact same thing and making a ton of money."

Foxx is also looking to address issues related to harder drugs, which often result in felony charges and are almost never expunged from criminal records. She added that public support for harsh punishment for drug sentences is fading.

I don’t have an issue with most of the possession charges but it’s the POS dealers that need to keep their convictions

41 statues in Chicago are under review by the mayor as part of her "racial healing and historical reckoning" project, including those of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

Yeah, that Lincoln was quite the racist.
