A Romeoville man followed another man from an anti-violence dinner and shot him at a red light near Goose Island in March, prosecutors said Saturday. The alleged victim survived but is paralyzed below his midsection.

Kareem Hood, 43, was ordered held without bail by Judge David Navarro on one count of attempted first-degree murder.

The 49-year-old victim and Hood, who have known each other for about 15 years and had “minor issues” in the past, attended the Soul Food Sunday anti-violence event in Englewood on March 28, prosecutors said.

At least they aimed directly at him and didn't spray the bullets around and hit innocent bystanders.

Bullets have gone through walls of homes and killed people during some of these shootings. I recall a story of a woman realtor who stopped in a store to make some photocopies and was killed when some gang bangers had a shootout on the street outside. Bullet went right through the wall and into her head. Killed instantly.
