Matt Harvey via trade this off season?

A lot of talk here on sports radio about how the Mets are getting sick of his shit.

Yesterday, he showed up late for practice, right before the biggest series in his career. Said he was stuck in traffic for hours.

He has Boras as an agent, so will be looking for some serious cash after 2018 when he is a FA

Coming off Tommy John, but looks good. Sounds like his teammates are growing weary of the so called Boras innings limit this season.

Would you want him, and what do you think it would take?

Mets are stacked at SP with Wheeler and Matz ready for full seasons next year. They need OF help.

Victorino and Cowgill for Harvey.  Get it done, Eppler.

I'd rather throw money at the problem. And there are free agent options this offseason that are just as good, worth throwing at.

As I see it, throwing money at the problem is the only way to fix it. We don't have the minor league depth to pull off a major trade, let alone the several that would be needed to really improve the team.

I hope Arte is prepared to spend money this off-season.

I can hear it now:

"What would it take for Harvey?"

"Heaney and Calhoun."

"Click..."

No, thanks.

That made me think, would trading Calhoun be absolutely crazy?

The Angels could sign two FA OFs - one with speed/OBP (Span) and one of Heyward/Upton/Cespedes.

Calhoun plus some starting pitching could fetch quite a haul and help replenish some areas of need.

I guess a more radical idea would be dealing Cron, signing two FA OFers, and having Calhoun morph into Erstad 2.0 where he splits his time between 1B with Albert and OF. DH shared between Albert and the OFers.
